Hindi music is believed to have its root in mythology and is connected with singers like Ghandharvas. Narada is believed to be the first person to practice this art of singing.

Common musical instruments in hindi music are drum, tabla, Manjira , harmonium etc. Veena is the most important instrument in hindi music while sitar is the oldest one. Some of the classical instruments are : table, Flute, sarnagi, sitar, sarangi, santoor, and shenai.
