Telugu music is south Indian music and belongs to Andhra Pradesh. It is enriched with tradition and culture like Kannada and Malayalam. “Kalapam” is very popular form of music in the Telgu and performed through a sting of song. A. R. Rehman the living legend has done a lot to change the picture of Telgu music. He supported and gave opportunity to many singers who reached new heights by creating innovative and electrifying telgu music.

Many famous bollywood singers contributed a lot in the Telgu industry. Some of the famous names of telgu singers are Mallikharjun Sumangali, Nithya, Chitra, Kousalya etc.

Telgu songs are loved by the people because of their melodious tunes. They soon occupy the place in the top music count down of telgu numbers. Many popular songs were translated into other languages. Devotional songs and Vedic chants have been sung in telgu language. Vocal Carnatic compositions and instrumental music are two important aspect of telgu music.
